Question

Well, we're making believe that I don't know it, but Marisol is stashed away here. She HAD to come today because the coupon/code was expiring tomorrow at midnight.

Anyway, I had 2 coupons, so I used the other one for her "Meet" accessories. I was taking a peek at the stuff with my DH. One of his hobbies is watch repair, and he got some new batteries today, so he wanted to know what kind of battery her cellphone takes. But I told him that we couldn't open it until Mother's Day. But he said that that rule doesn't apply to cellphones. Well, he didn't have to twist my arm! And out it came. And is it ever CUTE!

Now for my question......I noticed that when you flip the cellphone open, it doesn't stay open unless you hold it open. It flips shut right away again. Is mine defective, or is this the way that they all are?

Ours does the same thing. When my DD got it for her birthday she expected it to stay open and it snapped shut on her finger! Poor thing, not like we need hospitalization or anything but it did hurt. Just FYI for all Mom's & DD's out there.

Yeah, mine does that too. It's a bit annoying if you ask me- I mean real phones stay open so why shouldn't doll ones imitate the real one? Hmmm....

Thanks everyone. That's a relief to know. I hate having to exchange things--it's such a bother.

And I do understand about using the code without the coupon. I did do that for a couple of online things recently. I just wanted to do this purchase in person, so that I could choose Marisol for myself, and so that I could avoid paying shipping. And I wasn't sure that the people at the cash register would take the code without the coupon.

As it turned out, I couldn't really check a bunch of Marisol dolls for the softer, squeezable, less filled bodies that I prefer, because I discovered that the Marisol boxes are almost impossible to open. I tried 2 or 3, without success, and then went to find a personal shopper to help me. She said no problem, you can open as many boxes as you want. Then she went to try and couldn't do it either. She suggested that I try the display at the other end of the floor. I did and had no better success there. I finally got one open and her body felt pretty squeezable, so I gave up and took that one.

I think that the reason for the difficulty is the plastic liner that holds the book. The edges of it stick out just enough to catch on the lid of the box, making that end of the box virtually impossible to open.

It's so odd. It makes you feel like you must be in a "Candid Camera" sketch or something.

Joy, don't let having only 2 coupons stop you from ordering online and using the code number, you just enter it in and you don't need the coupon. In fact, I NEVER had one until some nice board members sent me theirs for my last trip up to AGPC for Josefina's birthday celebration!
